Bio:

From a young age I had envisioned myself working in the development landscape in India after a brief two pager introduction to social movements in school. My educational and professional trajectory was influenced by my decision to create an impact in rural spaces. I chose to graduate with a degree in sociology and subsequently pursued M.A in social work with specialization in children and families from TISS, Mumbai.

My tryst as a development professional started in 2018 with an organisation based in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. It was in Bhubaneswar where I worked on pressing issues such as education in child care institute, mental health and rehabilitation practices, addressing abuse and violence, skilling of unemployed youth that I realised my capacity as a facilitator, innovator, and implementer in the development landscape. I have briefly worked with children and young adults with Autism and other psychosocial disability in the role of a Program Manager. My engagement in these organisations enabled me to analyse better and trouble shoot with aim to achieve target.

I was motivated to join ADF as it an amalgamation of knowledge building and field application where civil society, government and private sectors are working in tandem to bring measurable changes in the stranded districts of India. I am better placed to understand the interconnectedness of the pulleys and levers that comprise the system. Figuring out which lever to pull to make change happen after identifying the gaps is the key. In order to contribute fully to my goal of creating measurable change in communities, working with the District Collector and local governance seemed the right fit and the best approach.
