Bio:
I worked for ‘livelihoods’ because I wanted to bring change in the lives of the rural population of India. I never joined an NGO because I believe that ‘Government is the biggest NGO’. During my work as a Young professional working for Odisha Livelihoods Mission in Keonjhar District, this belief cemented further. The scale and scope at which Government works is unmatchable, thus the effect of even a small improvement in the existing Government machinery can affect a large number of people.
I enjoy the challenging the status quo of the Government machinery in a gradual process, somewhat like the ‘KAIZEN’ philosophy. As a Young Professional with OLM I tried to bring change in the working style of my staff from output based approach to outcome based approach but my scope was limited to livelihoods and Skill Development. As an AD Fellow I believe that I will get an opportunity to bring about this change in a diverse variety of schemes of the Government and impact a diverse age group of people throughout the district of my posting.
