Bio:

I am a post-graduate in Economics from Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan. Apart from Arts, great passion in writing, my academics shaped my perception of the world. Arts brought empathy and empathy brought me into the social development sector with the induction into the prestigious Youth for India fellowship. I chose to work on women-related issue, having faced gender-based discrimination at many junctures in my own life. I feel, the need for creation of opportunities is as paramount, a need, as the idea of building capacities. In the current scenario of government wanting to boost the grassroot with special policies and platforms, I felt, I have found my place. I have worked in Vidarbha on the issue of raising menstrual awareness and as a CM Fellow in Betul, Madhya Pradesh. I feel my unique abilities of looking at the system with my academic knowledge and empathy with the people at the ground has enriched me to fit the profile of a social development worker with a sense of policy-making and governance. I will be posted in Ranchi, Jharkhand through the TADP and I couldn’t be more excited.
