Bio:

Belonging to a nature-worshipping community in Coorg, sustainability has always been a part of my life. While pursuing my undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Amrita University with projects on renewable energy systems, I also explored areas such as natural farming and eco-construction by visiting grassroots organizations. After graduation, I worked with Anaadi Foundation on their rural initiatives and with EduSeva, an ed-tech startup on creating technology-enabled learning solutions for rural children. From 2018, I started working with Anaadi’ s CREST Center for Research in Ecology & Sustainable Technologies on integrating various aspects of sustainability aligned to the SDGs. I was involved in the design and implementation of national and international programs that weave the local best practices with global frameworks of sustainable development.

Education for Sustainable Development has been one of my key areas of work and I co-created a unique sustainability education framework in Anaadi, which was recognized by the UN SDSN’ s Global Schools program and NAAEE’ s EE 30 under 30. Indigenous knowledge systems, Desi-Circularity, Cow-centric sustainability are my areas of interest (and work) and I have come to understand that they play a key role in creating holistic solutions for the people and the planet. I am also a certified Yoga teacher. The Aspirational District Fellowship is an excellent opportunity for me to understand how Government mechanisms work, cope and function in the most challenging districts of India and contribute to theirtransformation.
