A post graduate in public health from Tata Institute of Social Science, Mumbai, I have worked as Senior Consultant (Policy and HR) at State Health System Resource Centre, Maharashtra. There I was involved in development of programme guidelines, programme evaluation, gap findings, capacity building and technical support to district officials. Before this, I worked as State Consultant Public Health at National Health Mission, Maharashtra where I was involved in programme planning, implementation, monitoring and supportive supervision.
A graduate of dental surgery, I worked as oral health programme coordinator at an NGO in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra for 2 years. My work mainly included creating community awareness about tobacco de-addiction, hospital based oral healthcare delivery and implementation of oral healthcare programme in community for the Madia-Gond primitive tribes in left wing affected area.
AD Fellowship offers a leadership role and the responsibility to set programme strategy, planning, implementation and monitoring for development of district as a unit. It will also give an opportunity to work with different departments and implement inter-departmental strategy for sustainable change. As a fellow I will try to utilize my skills for problem identification and address those problems through a scientific intervention. My experience of working in left wing affected area will help me understand societal complexity and associated issues and allow me to develop feasible and sustainable solutions.
