Bio:
Born and brought up in rural Manipur, I moved to Kerala in quest for higher education. I did my BSc Hons. Cooperation, Banking and Management from Kerala Agricultural University.
My interest to work in social sector developed during my undergraduate years. After graduating in 2013, I applied for PMRDF (Prime Minister’s Rural Development Fellowship Programme) and got the opportunity to work as a fellow in West Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya for three years. My stint there was enriching and an eye opening experience.
Having worked in rural areas of North East India on issues relating to rural poverty and the government schemes in action to combat the issues, I secretly wished to work in other parts of India too. AD Fellowship came as a perfect opportunity for me to work in rural areas of Central India on key indicators like health, education, livelihoods, financial inclusion, agriculture and skill development. This opportunity is a perfect package for someone like me who has a passion to work for rural development in general and betterment of people’s life in particular.
